iRacing S2 News - 2024

Attention, sim racing fans! We at Simufy are bursting with excitement to present a blog post you can't miss. The latest iRacing update has arrived, and with it, one of the most anticipated and exciting new features in recent years: the introduction of rain. This revolutionary feature promises to transform racing, adding a new level of realism and challenge to the driving experience. But that's not all; in a surprising twist, iRacing has also turned four iconic tracks into free content.

The most anticipated update arrives in iRacing: The Rain

Get ready for one of the most anticipated updates iRacing has had in a long time: rain ! And to top it all off, we're getting four tracks completely free.

As early as Season 2 2024, we'll be able to experience rain in our races. iRacing has decided to add this weather change to these cars in the GTP, LMP2, and GT3 categories, in addition to the Ray FF1600, the Toyota GR86, and the FIA F4. And this is just the beginning, as they plan to expand the list with more cars in future updates.

With the introduction of rain and the Tempest system, SimRacing becomes even more interesting, although we may need a little time to fully adapt to this new feature.

Things get intense when we race in the rain, as old tricks on dry tracks no longer work. Now, the differences between the polished and rougher sections of the asphalt are key. And that racing line we're so used to becomes like an ice rink, forcing us to explore new paths to ensure our tires grip properly. A truly exciting challenge lies ahead!

New Circuits in the base content

For S2 2024, iRacing has some luxury surprises in store for us. They'll be adding some mind-blowing circuits: the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão, and the Millbridge Speedway, a dirt oval that promises to be a real challenge. Plus, we also have new 3D kerbs at Sebring and Fuji.

But that's not all, friends, because they're also going to give us, without paying a dime, some truly amazing circuits: the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, the Snetterton Circuit, the Circuit de Lédenon, and the Winton Motor Raceway. It's non-stop action!

Vehicle News

For iRacing's 2024 season, exciting new vehicles will be added: the Dallara 324, intended for competitions such as Super Formula Lights and Euroformula Open, will be classified in Tier C. Additionally, the Micro Sprint, focused on dirt tracks, will be free for all users and will feature a special series for beginners. Meanwhile, the SRX Car will compete on asphalt and dirt tracks, positioned in Tier D. A season full of new features is anticipated.

CHANGES IN THE ROAD LICENSE FOR GT AND FORMULAS

iRacing is changing things up with road licenses. We'll now have two types: one for formula cars and one for sports cars. So whether you're a fan of going full throttle in single-seaters or prefer the punch of a sports car, you'll now have your own space. And don't worry, your rating and track record will be copied to the two new licenses to get you off to a good start. But be careful, each one works independently, so what you do in one won't affect the other. It's like having two games in one!

OTHER NEWS IN iRacing S2

It seems like they've put some work into the UI, giving it a facelift to make everything easier and cooler. They're going to include a tutorial for newbies, which is always helpful so you don't get lost in the first steps. They've also made some changes to how everything looks and how you navigate the game. On the other hand, the sidebar is where the nitty-gritty is: from there you control everything you need, from entering races to buying new cars. And the best part is that they've made it super intuitive, so finding what you're looking for is a piece of cake.
