Powered by the same technology as the impressive QS-220, the QS-BT1 is a dual-channel, multi-purpose direct-drive seatbelt tensioner that increases the immersion in racing simulators like no other device in its class and price range. Not only can it supplement the force feedback offered by the direct drive Steering Wheels , but it also raises the level of the overall experience offered by the already highly immersive QS motion platforms, and if needed, it can even function as a stand-alone device on its own. Simulation of braking, lateral accelerations, high-speed cornering, wheel locking and loss of traction are some of the key features of the QS-BT1. Asymmetric engine vibrations and road surface effects, such as curbs, are also available for games that support them, and despite being designed primarily for racing simulation applications, with its 200 N of force per channel, the QS-BT1 can also be successfully used in flight simulators, to make you feel gigantic forces during high-G maneuvers.
IMPROVING THE AUTOMOTIVE BRAKING SIMULATION EXPERIENCE
The QS-BT1 significantly enhances the level of realism, giving gamers an unparalleled opportunity to dive deep into the intricate dynamics of braking.
This innovative device transforms car simulations into a thrilling and uniquely authentic experience, setting a new standard in the intensity and authenticity of virtual driving.
ADVANCED STEERING SIMULATION WITH DUAL TENSION TECHNOLOGY
Advanced dual-channel belt tensioner technology enables accurate simulation of overloads, creating a dynamic and realistic turning experience.
Feel the subtle reactions in the curves and have total control of the vehicle.
VIBRATION TO INCREASE IMMERSION
The QS-BT1 is an advanced seat belt tensioner equipped with innovative engine vibration technology. With this device, users can literally feel the pulsation of engine power, adding realism and intensity to their virtual driving experience.
Engine vibrations are precisely tuned to reflect changing road conditions, responding to dynamic accelerations and gear changes. The QS-BT1 allows users to fully immerse themselves in simulated automotive thrills, providing unforgettable sensations for both racing simulator enthusiasts and those seeking realistic automotive experiences.
REALISM IN GEAR SHIFTING
The QS-BT1 goes beyond traditional simulation experiences by introducing a revolutionary feature: gear shift sensation. Through its sophisticated technology, users can distinctively feel the transition between gears while the seat belts respond accordingly to gear changes.
This innovative integration enhances the overall realism of the driving simulation, providing users with tactile feedback that replicates the subtle dynamics of a real vehicle, making the virtual driving experience even more immersive and engaging.
DYNAMIC TURNING SENSATION
The QS-BT1 introduces an unprecedented level of realism to virtual driving by simulating G-forces during cornering. As you navigate the curves in the simulated world, the seat belts dynamically tighten, mimicking the lateral forces experienced in real driving. This unique feature not only provides a greater sense of immersion, but also adds a strategic element to the game.
Seatbelt tensioning not only makes the driving experience more authentic, but also serves as a tangible indicator of cornering intensity, allowing users to respond intuitively to simulated forces.
COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER DEVICES
The QS-BT1 alone cannot create the feeling of forward acceleration and high-speed driving, especially when driving an electric vehicle, where there are no engine vibrations and only road noise. Even with all the effects adjusted, there is still a feeling that something is missing on long straights, in a formula car, driving at 300 km/h. Fortunately, the QS-BT1 is compatible with all motion platforms running Motion Systems technology (QS, PS, HS)* and also with our open source, easy-to-build WindSim, which can easily show you what it's like to drive a car without a roof in winter with a wig.
- For motion applications from Racing Seats, the QS-BT1 can only be installed on the top frame of the motion platform.
BEYOND 4 WHEELS
Do you dream of becoming a fighter pilot? Do you want to experience the overload (G) that pilots feel?
The QS-BT1, with its impressive 41 kg/90 lbs of sustained pulling force, allows you to experience and feel the differences between 1G, 2G, 3G or even 9G. Positive G, negative G or both, it all depends on your preference, the sky is the limit, literally. Centrifugal forces, engine vibrations, cannon fire, missile launch or flare release [1] all generate accurate feedback through the QS-BT1 and immerse you deep into the simulation. The missing factor to tie your body to the Racing Seat, the stress you feel in your body during tight maneuvers, making you wonder if you really want to repeat the same maneuver, everything is finally present to bridge the gap between reality and simulation once again.
[1] Not all games support all effects.
SUCCEEDS WHERE MOTION PLATFORMS FAIL
Even the incomparable QS-220, with its impressive speed and rapid acceleration, fails in one specific area where surprisingly, no motion platform is better: the simulation of sustained prolonged forces. Classic motion platforms, even in 6DOF configuration, have no choice and must rely on the Earth's gravity when it comes to prolonged accelerations. Even at an inclination angle of 20 degrees, it only provides approximately 3.3 m/s² [1] of perceptible sustained acceleration, which, assuming a human chest weight of 50 kg, is equivalent to only 165 N of force. For 10 degrees, it would be 1.7 m/s² and 85 N of force. Any braking maneuver that requires both tilting and turning to simulate correctly drastically reduces the above forces. When compared to the QS-BT1, which generates 200 N per channel [2], it is clear that they belong to two different leagues. When both systems are combined, the motion platform does not need to focus so much on simulating prolonged accelerations and can use its full capability in everything else.
[1] For simplicity, simplified physics formulas are used and the different levels of human perception and tolerance to force simulations are omitted.
[2] The maximum force generated by the QS-BT1 per channel is 200 N (20.5 kg/45 lbs), combined is 400 N (41 kg/90 lbs).
RELIABLE SIMULATION SAFETY
The QS-BT1 stands out not only for its immersive capabilities, but also as the safest tool for experiencing the impact of road conditions and vehicle behavior safely. Necessary safety factors were included at every level of the design, including, but not limited to:
- Selection of suitable motors and power supply which, combined, generate sufficient tractive force but, at the same time, the difference between the rated voltages prevents the motors from rotating too fast.
- Selection of the right amount of traction force, which on the one hand is high enough to generate the necessary sensations, but on the other hand is safe for humans.
- Implementation of our Motion-Lock[1] dual-channel self-evaluation system, which allows linking the QS-BT1 to a fully integrated Motion-Lock circuit together with various models of QS and QS-DD-20 motion platforms. [1] The Motion-Lock switch is not included in the box. When the QS-BT1 is connected to the existing Motion-Lock circuit (supplied by QS-210, QS-220, QS-V20, QS-S25 and QS-DD-20), no additional harness is required. If the QS-BT1 is to be operated with a separate Motion-Lock switch, an additional harness is required.
