"Performance counts, but never forget the joy of simulation racing."
Enhance your simulation experience. Heusinkveld presents some of the highest quality, most adjustable and realistic feeling Pedals on the market: the Heusinkveld Sim Pedals Ultimate+. Developed and tested by world-class GT, single-seater and Esports drivers, this high-end Pedals set can be used in the most demanding environments. Capable of simulating force loads as high as in real GT and F1 cars.
Engineering
Designed with CAD and FEA, all structural parts are made of high-precision CNC laser-cut stainless steel with a glass-blast finish. The Pedals are strong, rigid, compact and durable. Mathematical modeling was performed to calculate pedal travel and operating force, predicting with great accuracy how each pedal feels in every possible configuration.
Design tolerances have been optimized to have a minimum amount of play in each assembly. All key pivot points have sliding bearings and have undergone automated durability testing to ensure functionality after one million service cycles.
Custom-made brake elastomers provide a realistic progressive feel and maintain their characteristics even after thousands of runs.
Hydraulic cushioning
The Sim Pedals Ultimate custom hydraulic dampers are ultra-reliable and require no periodic maintenance. Even in the unlikely event of a failure, all hydraulic dampers can be easily removed while the pedal still retains its basic functionality since the pedal sensors are separate from the hydraulic circuit.
Sensors & Outputs
Sim Pedals Ultimate+ load cell assemblies provide true linear input measurement of throttle and clutch position and, in turn, braking force. Their accuracy and durability are unmatched as they do not wear out over time. Heusinkveld's proprietary electronics provide a full-range 12-bit output for each pedal. Custom output curves can be freely configured and stored in profiles using Heusinkveld SmartControl software.
Components
Accelerator
Smooth, precise and highly adjustable. The throttle pedal gives you excellent control with exactly the travel, spring preload and resistance you prefer.
The accelerator pedal features a one-way hydraulic damper that resists speed on the input stroke. This helps smooth throttle application and is also used in many real cars for this purpose. The amount of damping can be adjusted.
A load cell provides true linear input measurement of pedal position. Customized nonlinear output curves can be freely configured using Heusinkveld SmartControl software.
Brake
The brake features a realistic dual-stage braking system with a 200 kg load cell, capable of handling actual pedal forces up to 140 kg (measured on the pedal foot plate). The spring simulates the initial distance between the pad and the disc. The main brake springs are all new Heusinkveld custom injection-molded thermoset elastomers.
These patented elastomers are soft, responsive and provide unprecedented progressive brake resistance (convex force curve) just as you would have in a real racing car. On the entry and exit stroke they have firm shock and rebound characteristics.
Automated tests show that these elastomers have no performance degradation even after one million service cycles. You can choose from a total of 9 possible resistance settings, allowing you to adjust the pedal from very soft to extremely stiff.
The brake features a bi-directional hydraulic damper. This damping resists velocity on the entry and exit stroke as experienced in real brake assemblies. The amount of damping is adjustable.
Clutch
A clutch feels lighter toward the end of the stroke. The Sim Pedals Ultimate+ clutch's regressive spring mechanism simulates this concave force curve and also allows you to greatly adjust the resistance, travel and pedal feel.
The clutch features a bi-directional hydraulic damper. This damping resists speed on the input and output stroke as seen in real clutch assemblies. The amount of damping is adjustable.
A load cell provides true linear input measurement of pedal position. Customized nonlinear output curves can be freely configured using Heusinkveld SmartControl software.
Electronics
The Heusinkeld Sim Pedals Ultimate+ use a custom 12-bit USB driver that works with Heusinkveld SmartControl software. After calibration, each pedal provides an output signal using the full 12-bit range, providing instant and accurate output to the simulation software of your choice.
The controller housing is made of steel and is equipped with 4 mounting holes for easy installation on your simulator. It can also be mounted on the bottom of the optional Sim Pedals Ultimate+ platform.
The Pedals has been fully tested for electromagnetic compatibility, which guarantees a stable output signal regardless of the other electronic components used in your simulator (you will not suffer from the famous "emissivity").
SmartControl
Sim Pedals Ultimate+ come with a powerful setup tool that allows you to configure your Pedals in ways that were not possible before: SmartControl. Working in conjunction with the new electronics, SmartControl allows instant mapping of pedal output curves (non-linear), pedal dead zones and brake pedal force.
These settings can be made without having to recalibrate Pedals (including iRacing). All settings can be saved in profiles, which can be loaded again in a few mouse clicks.
Curve mapping
A key feature of SmartControl is the ability to configure custom signal output maps per pedal. Traditionally, the output of the Pedals racing simulator has had a one-to-one sensitivity relative to the pedal input. SmartControl allows you to map non-linear output curves using 5 zones (six input parameters).
Each pedal has a drop-down curve type menu with predefined output curves. You can also select the option to make a custom curve and manually set the desired pedal output percentage for each zone. You have complete freedom to set your own shapes!
Dead zones and braking force adjustment
SmartControl offers quick and easy adjustment of pedal dead zones. The effect of changing these settings can be seen visually and in real time. You can also set in a few mouse clicks the braking force required to obtain 100% brake output on your simulator.
Profiles
There is support for an unlimited number of profiles within SmartControl. Saving and loading a profile is done in a few mouse clicks. Because the profile data is saved in relation to your calibration values, it is possible to exchange pedal profiles between Sim Pedals Ultimate+ owners.
Calibration assistant
Your Sim Pedals Ultimate+ are pre-calibrated during assembly and can be used as a plug & play device. All adjustments in SmartControl can be made without having to recalibrate the Pedals.
In case you need to recalibrate (e.g. after making certain mechanical adjustments to the Pedals), SmartControl has an easy-to-follow calibration wizard.
More Information
A printed manual is included with each set of Pedals.
For the Sim Pedals Ultimate+ we also offer an optional mounting plate: the Sim Pedals Ultimate+ Baseplate.
Please note that these Pedals cannot be installed on the floor without additional support, or in a cockpit where there is no solid connection between the Pedals and the Racing Seat. A complete setup is always required for the Sim Pedals Ultimate+, even if you use the optional Sim Pedals Ultimate+ Platform.
Sim Pedals Ultimate+ can be used in the following driving simulation environments:
- For professional pilot training.
- For home use (e.g. in eSports simulators, by racing simulator enthusiasts).
- In commercial applications (e.g. in rental simulators).
This product is compatible with PC's running Windows 10 or newer. It is not compatible with Linux or consoles such as Xbox or Playstation.
The Pedals are pre-calibrated (plug-and-play). If you want to use SmartControl to recalibrate or adjust certain settings of the Pedals, you need to use Windows 10 or newer.
Sim Pedals Sprint are CE certified, including having passed EMC compliance testing.
