The iRacing 24 hours at the Nürburgring is back! And this weekend, our Simufy eSports drivers will compete in what is considered the most difficult and exhausting circuit in the world. They are ready to demonstrate their skill and endurance in one of the most iconic events of virtual motorsport. And you, are you ready to live this spectacle at full speed? Well, in case you haven't thought about following it, we give you an extra reason: VERSTAPPEN HAS COME UP AND HE'S GOING TO RACE TOO. What, how do you like it? Apparently F1 is not enough for him, and this weekend, besides competing in the Imola GP, he is going to race in the Nürburgring 24h of iRacing. Now you can't miss it!
What is the Nürburgring 24h?
In the world of simracing, the Nürburgring's Nordschleife stands out as one of the most challenging circuits for drivers. Popularly known as the "Ring," this legendary circuit winds 12.9 miles through Germany's Eifel Mountains, offering breathtaking climbs and descents with elevation variation approaching 1,000 feet each lap. More than 70 iconic corners, such as Hatzenbach, Adenauer Forst, Wehrseifen, Karussell, Pflanzgarten and Schwalbenschwanz, make it a real challenge for drivers who tackle this circuit.
Built between 1925 and 1927, the Nürburgring had two tracks: the prominent Nordschleife and the smaller Südschleife. The Nordschleife, central to the circuit's history, hosted the Formula One German Grand Prix until the 1970s. However, following a serious accident in 1976 that nearly cost Niki Lauda his life, Formula One moved to Hockenheim, reinforcing the Nordschleife's reputation as a challenging circuit revered by simracing fans.
