The Conspit Ares 12 is a 12 Nm Direct Drive wheelbase for sim racing, compatible with PC, with a 23-bit optical encoder and a skew-pole motor, available in CDR and CDP Quick Release versions.

Developed by motorsport engineers and professional drivers, the Ares 12 is the gateway to Conspit's Direct Drive ecosystem. Its skew-pole motor cuts torque ripple and keeps cogging below 2.3%, for natural, smooth and stable steering even during long sessions.

Key features of the Conspit Ares 12

  • Clean, ultra-smooth Force Feedback, with a skew-pole motor developed for simulation, not an industrial servo.
  • 23-bit optical encoder with sub-0.01° angular resolution for maximum precision and consistency.
  • Torque response of up to 9.5 Nm/ms, able to convey grip changes, kerbs and slides.
  • Tuning based on real torque measurement and real-time thermal management for stable performance.
  • CNC-machined aerospace-grade aluminium chassis, compact and with excellent heat dissipation.
  • Expandable via front magnetic contacts (POGO Module) and with a dedicated safety mode.
  • Conspit Link 2.0 software with official presets from professional engineers and drivers.

Which version should you choose?

Choose the CDR version for maximum standard compatibility with wheels on the market; choose the CDP for a competition-grade 7075 aluminium mount, play-free and with maximum rigidity. All other performance (12 Nm, 23-bit encoder, skew-pole motor) is identical.

Compatibility

  • Platform: PC (Windows) via USB 3.0. Not compatible with PlayStation or Xbox.
  • Software: Conspit Link 2.0 (FFB tuning, curves and presets).
  • Quick Release: CDR or CDP depending on version; compatible with Conspit wheels and standard adapters.
  • Mounting: M6 ×4 (bottom) / M8 ×4 (sides), suitable for aluminium-profile cockpits.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Conspit Ares 12 compatible with consoles?

No. The Ares 12 works on PC (Windows) only via USB; it is not compatible with PlayStation or Xbox.

What is the difference between the CDR and CDP versions?

It is the Quick Release system: the CDR uses a widely adopted industry standard with high compatibility, while the CDP is a ball-and-clip system machined from 7075 CNC aluminium, competition-grade and play-free.

How much torque does the Ares 12 actually deliver?

12 Nm of peak torque, with a response of up to 9.5 Nm/ms to convey every detail of the road surface.

Which encoder does it use and why does it matter?

A 23-bit optical encoder with sub-0.01° angular resolution, more accurate and stable than an equivalent magnetic encoder.

Does it need software to work?

It is managed with Conspit Link 2.0, which lets you adjust Force Feedback, torque curves and filters, and includes official presets created by professional engineers and drivers.

Can it be expanded or shared safely?

Yes. It has front magnetic contacts (POGO Module) for future accessories and a dedicated safety mode for shared or supervised use.
