The Asetek Open D Suede is an open-D suede wheel rim for sim racing, compatible with the Asetek SimSports GT Button Box, aimed at GT and prototype drivers who want maximum immersion with a suede feel.

It is part of Asetek's modular system: the Button Box keeps your entire control mapping and you simply change the rim to adapt the feel of your wheel in seconds, with no tools. As it is hand-stitched, every unit shows small variations in finish typical of a handcrafted piece.

FAQ

Which Asetek wheels is the Open D Suede compatible with?

With the Asetek SimSports GT Button Boxes: Forte GT, Forte GT V2, La Prima GT and La Prima GT V2. It mounts directly on the Button Box with no adapters.

Do I need gloves with the suede rim?

They are recommended. Suede offers maximum grip and a racing feel, and gloves protect the material and improve the feel during long stints.

Does it include the Button Box?

No. It is only the replacement rim; the Button Box with the buttons and electronics is bought separately or comes with your GT wheel.

Do I have to reconfigure my controls when changing rims?

No. The Button Box keeps all the button mapping; when you change the rim you keep your configuration in the sim.

Why does each rim show small differences?

Because it is hand-stitched. You may see minor variations in stitching and finish, a sign of its handcrafted manufacture.
