How to choose your Formula 1 simulator

  • Base torque: more torque means more detail under braking, over kerbs and when losing traction. 12 Nm is enough to get started; 25 Nm is close to what drivers and centres use.
  • Pedals: a load cell brake measures pressure, not travel, just like in a real single-seater.
  • Space: a Formula cockpit is longer and lower than a GT-style one. Check the dimensions before buying.
  • Platform: the wheel base determines whether the simulator works on PC or console. Choose the one that matches the system you play on.
