The Lindy Schuko to IEC C13 is a 10 A, 250 V earthed power cable, available in 0.7, 2, 3 and 5 metres, for powering PCs, monitors, direct drive wheelbases, power supplies and any device with an IEC C14 inlet.

Made by Lindy with H05VV-F 3G 0.75 mm² cable, a robust PVC housing and lead-free connectors (under 0.1% lead in the brass, SVHC-free). Its temperature resistance allows use in non air-conditioned areas, and the short 0.7 m version is the most practical for power strips mounted inside the chassis of a racing simulator, where excess cable is everywhere.

Which length should you choose?

The 0.7 m is ideal when the device sits right next to the power strip or UPS: inside a cockpit, in a rack or behind the desk, it avoids piles of surplus cable. The 2 and 3 m versions are the most versatile for a PC or monitor at a normal distance from the socket, and the 5 m solves installations where mains power is far from the setup.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Schuko connector straight or angled?

Straight. Both the Schuko and the IEC C13 connectors are straight. Lindy makes a separate angled series, with different part numbers, available only from 2 m upwards.

Will it work with a direct drive wheelbase power supply?

Yes, as long as the power supply has an IEC C14 inlet (the usual three-pin connector). The cable is rated up to 10 A and 250 V, well above the draw of domestic direct drive power supplies.

Is this the same as a kettle lead?

It is commonly called that, but the term is not accurate: kettles use IEC C15/C16 connectors rated for higher temperatures. This is a standard IEC C13, the one used by PCs, monitors and electronic equipment.

What is the cable cross-section?

H05VV-F 3G 0.75 mm²: three 0.75 mm² conductors (live, neutral and earth) with a PVC jacket.

Can I use it outdoors?

No. It is intended for indoor use in dry areas.
