The StarTech USB3AAEXT is an active USB 3.0 (USB-A male to female) extension cable rated at 5 Gbps, available in 3, 5 and 10 metres, with a built-in active circuit and an included AC power adapter to take your USB peripherals further without signal loss.

Unlike a passive extension, its active electronics regenerate the signal to overcome the USB 3.0 distance limit and keep the full 5 Gbps. In a sim racing cockpit it is the reliable way to connect the wheelbase, button boxes or VR headset when the PC sits several metres from the rig.

Which length should you choose?

Choose by the real distance between the PC's USB port and the peripheral: 3 m to bring a device closer within the same desk or rig, 5 m to reach from the tower to an adjacent cockpit and 10 m when the PC is in another part of the room. If you need more reach, daisy-chain several cables up to the 20 m limit.

Compatibility
