The PXN HBS is a linear sim racing handbrake with a 16-bit Hall effect sensor and adjustable force and travel, compatible with PC only and built for drifting and rally.

The Hall sensor is contactless: there is no carbon track to wear down, so the reading stays consistent session after session. Force is changed by swapping the spring or the damping gel, across three resistance levels, and the lever can be mounted vertically or horizontally depending on whether you want the rally gesture or the road car one.

Compatibility

PC running Windows, over USB-B and with no additional drivers.
It is not compatible with PlayStation or Xbox. PXN lists it as a PC-only product.
It works as a standalone USB device, alongside any wheel connected to the same PC.

It mounts on a desk with the supplied clamp or bolted to a cockpit frame. If you do not have a base yet, the handbrake pairs with any of the direct drive wheelbases in the range.

Frequently asked questions

Does the PXN HBS work on PS5 or Xbox?

No. PXN lists it as a PC Windows exclusive. It does not work on console, not even connected to a wheel that is itself console compatible.

Does it come with a desk clamp?

Yes. The desk clamp is included and takes tops up to 7 cm thick. The base also has threaded holes to bolt the handbrake straight onto a cockpit.

Can the handbrake force be changed?

Yes. Swapping the spring or the damping gel moves between three resistance levels of 3, 5 and 10 kg, and the lever travel is adjustable too.

What is the advantage of a Hall sensor over a potentiometer?

A Hall effect sensor touches no surface, so it does not wear or develop signal spikes over time. A potentiometer degrades through friction and eventually gives erratic readings.

Can it be mounted horizontally?

Yes. The handle takes a vertical or horizontal position. Horizontal is closer to a road car, while vertical is the usual choice for rally and drifting.

Are drivers needed?

No. It is plug and play: connect the USB-B cable and Windows recognises it with no extra software.
