The Simucube Link Quick Release is the coupling system of the Simucube 3 wheelbases: a self-centring P3G polygon with zero play and wireless power and data transfer through LightBridge, on a 70 mm mounting pattern.

Its P3G shape is a stress-optimised harmonic polygon with an infinite number of contact points — the ideal geometry for a high-torque application under constant vibration: it centres itself, locks instantly and spreads the torque across the whole surface. Inside sits LightBridge, the Simucube system that carries power and data with no brushes, no contacts and no wearing parts. Bear in mind that every Simucube 3 compatible wheel already ships with a Link Quick Release: this one is bought separately to fit a wheel you already own.

Compatibility

  • Simucube 3 Sport, Pro and Ultimate wheelbases: this is their native coupling system.
  • Wheels with a 70 mm pattern, threaded or non-threaded: they mount directly.
  • Formula wheels with a 50.8 mm pattern: they need the 50.8 to 70 mm spacer adapter.
  • LightBridge: the wireless power and data features are only available on Simucube Link compatible wheels. With any other 70 mm sim racing wheel, the quick release still works as a purely mechanical coupling.
  • If you buy a wheel that is already Simucube 3 compatible, you do not need this product: it comes included.

Do I need to buy the Link Quick Release separately?

It depends. Every Simucube 3 compatible wheel already ships with a Simucube Link Quick Release. You buy this one separately when you want to fit a wheel you already own, with a 70 mm pattern, to your Simucube 3.

Does it work with any 70 mm wheel?

Yes, it mounts on practically any wheel with a 70 mm pattern, with threaded or non-threaded holes. What varies is whether that wheel makes use of the LightBridge electronics.

What if my wheel is not Simucube Link compatible?

The quick release can still be used as a purely mechanical coupling. What you will not get is the wireless power and data transfer through LightBridge, which only works with compatible wheels.

What if my wheel is a formula rim with a 50.8 mm pattern?

You need the 50.8 to 70 mm spacer adapter, sold separately, which also works with threaded and non-threaded wheels.

What is included in the box?

One Simucube Link Quick Release, three M5x16 hex head screws and one 3 mm hex key.

Does it fit a Simucube 2 wheelbase?

No. The Simucube Link Quick Release is designed for Simucube 3 wheelbases. Simucube 2 bases use the Simucube Quick Release (SQR) system.
