The Sim-Lab XERO-PLAY V2 is a steering wheel Quick Release for sim racing with a standard Ø70 mm bolt pattern and USB data passthrough built into the coupling, compatible with virtually any wheel and with 70 mm PCD wheelbases, available as a complete set or wheel side only.

Machined from aluminium to tight tolerances, it locks in with a firm click and zero play, and releases just as cleanly with a pull of the lever. Because the USB passthrough runs through the coupling itself, it clears the visible cabling from around the wheel. It is an open ecosystem: native connection for Sim-Lab and Grid Engineering wheels, plus third-party support through an adapter cable.

The complete set includes both the base side and the wheel side and is the option for a first installation. The wheel side only includes just the wheel-side coupling, intended for fitting a second wheel to an XERO-PLAY V2 system you already have installed on your base.

Which wheelbases is the XERO-PLAY V2 compatible with?

It works on any wheelbase with a 70 mm PCD mount, with or without USB data passthrough. On bases with DDS TorqueSync™ the integration is native; on all others it connects via a standalone USB-C connection. It is not compatible with proprietary non-USB protocols such as the Fanatec hub or the Simucube wireless link.

Can I use it with third-party wheels?

Yes. The standard Ø70 mm M5 pattern fits virtually any sim racing wheel. Wheels with a USB connection use the included short USB-C cable to keep data passthrough; Sim-Lab and Grid Engineering wheels connect natively through the 8-pin interface.

Do I need the USB passthrough to use the Quick Release?

No. Data passthrough is optional. The Quick Release performs its mechanical connect-and-disconnect function on bases without USB passthrough too; data transmission is an added benefit when the base and wheel support it.

What is the difference between the complete set and wheel side only?

The complete set includes the base side and the wheel side for a first installation. The wheel side only includes just the wheel-side coupling and is intended for fitting a second wheel to an XERO-PLAY V2 system already installed on your base.

Is it compatible with Ascher, BavarianSimTec, GSI or VPG wheels?

Yes. For these wheels the internal connector cable is available on request, so full data passthrough through the coupling is maintained.
