The Thrustmaster Sol-R 4 HOTAS is a PC HOTAS system made up of a joystick and a throttle, with 58 assignable actions and X, Y and Z axes using 16-bit H.E.A.R.T. magnetic sensors, built for air combat, civil aviation and space simulation.

HOTAS (Hands On Throttle And Stick) means flying with one hand on the stick and the other on the throttle, controlling trajectory and thrust at the same time without letting go of the controls. The joystick pairs the detachable Sol-R grip with the Sol-R base, both interchangeable within the Thrustmaster FlightSim ecosystem.

With HOTAS (Hands On Throttle And Stick) you fly using a joystick and a throttle, the classic military and civil aviation layout. HOSAS uses two joysticks and is more common in space sim. The Sol-R 4 is a HOTAS system.

What is the adjustable throttle detent for?

The detent is a physical stop that marks a reference point along the travel. The Sol-R 4 lets you set it to 4 positions (none, 50%, 80% afterburner or dual-detent) to match the aircraft you are flying.

Does the Sol-R 4 HOTAS work on PS5 or Xbox?

No. The Sol-R 4 HOTAS is a PC-only system (Windows 10 and 11) and is not compatible with consoles.
