The Thrustmaster T598 is a complete Direct Drive bundle for PS5, PS4 and PC with a Direct Axial Drive axial flux motor, 5 Nm of constant torque and +100% overshoot capability, including the base, a 30 cm SPORTCAR wheel rim and the Raceline Pedals LTE pedal set.

The T598's key is its axial flux motor, developed with ECM PCB Stator Tech: because it produces no cogging (the parasitic friction typical of radial Direct Drive motors), wheel movement is clean and effects arrive without software filters masking them, with 5 ms of latency. It is a racing simulator ready to play straight out of the box.

What is the difference between this T598 and the T598-X?

The hardware is the same, but the official licence differs: this version is licensed for PlayStation and works on PS5, PS4 and PC. The T598-X version is licensed for Xbox and works on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. They are not interchangeable.

What is +100% overshoot and where do you notice it?

The T598 delivers 5 Nm of constant torque but can briefly exceed it, up to double, on force peaks. Because the motor does not saturate, the game's physics effects (a kerb, a snap of oversteer) arrive more immediate and forceful than with a motor capped at its rated torque.

What does it mean that the motor has no cogging?

Cogging is the parasitic friction that appears as the motor switches from one magnet to the next in radial Direct Drive designs. The T598's axial flux motor does not produce it, so it needs no anti-cogging firmware filtering, which consumes energy and distorts part of the Force Feedback.

Can a third pedal or a load cell brake be added?

Yes. The included Raceline Pedals LTE set is modular and can be expanded with the upgrade kit that adds a third pedal with a load cell brake, sold separately.

Does it work on a desk or do I need a cockpit?

Both. The bundle includes the table/desk clamping system, and the base has attachment points so it can be bolted to a rigid cockpit.
