The Thrustmaster T98 Ferrari 296 GTB is an entry-level racing wheel supplied with a pedal set, a 7:10 scale replica of the real Ferrari 296 GTB steering wheel, officially licensed by Ferrari and PlayStation and compatible with PS5, PS4 and PC.

It has no Force Feedback: instead it uses a bungee cord recentring system that automatically returns the rim to centre and provides linear resistance as you turn. Its 240° rotation angle (against 180° on a gamepad) allows for more precise lines, and it is plug and play: connect it and drive, with no software.

Does the T98 Ferrari 296 GTB have Force Feedback?

No. The T98 has no Force Feedback motor. It uses a bungee cord recentring system that returns the wheel to centre and provides linear resistance when turning, but it does not reproduce track effects, bumps or loss of grip. For that you need to step up to the T128 or the T248.

Who is it for?

For anyone who wants to move on from a gamepad and start driving with a wheel without investing in serious sim racing gear: beginners, family use and driving games that lean more arcade than pure simulation.

What does the Manettino dial do?

It lets you switch between three driving support profiles on the fly, from the most realistic to the easiest, adapting the wheel to each player's level.

Is it compatible with Xbox?

No. This version is officially licensed by PlayStation and works on PS5, PS4 and PC. For Xbox there is the T98 Ferrari 296 GTS, licensed by Microsoft.

Which pedals does it include?

A two-pedal set (throttle and brake) with contactless magnetic H.E.A.R.T sensors, which do not lose precision over time the way potentiometer-based pedals do.

Is 240° too little?

It is more than double the travel of a gamepad (180°) and enough for precise lines in arcade and driving games. For pure simulation, where 900° or more is the norm, a Force Feedback wheel such as the T128 is the way to go.
