The GSI GT-MAX32 is a 320 mm GT-style sim racing steering wheel with a 5-inch touchscreen, 58 mappable inputs and 76 addressable RGB LEDs, whose rim and front plate are formed as a single piece of hand-laid carbon fibre.
It is the largest and best equipped wheel in the Gomez Sim Industries catalogue. The continuous carbon construction — circular rim and front plate in the same piece — removes the joints that introduce flex on a wheel of this diameter, and the 5-inch display is the biggest in the range. It is built for GT3, prototypes and endurance, where you spend hours at the wheel and consult on-screen information constantly.
Key features of the GSI GT-MAX32
- 56 mappable inputs with 2 paddles and 58 with the dual clutch fitted.
- 5-inch touchscreen, the largest in the GSI range, for telemetry and in-race adjustments.
- 76 addressable RGB LEDs and a 4 + 16 + 4 telemetry strip, the most complete on any GSI wheel.
- Rim and front plate in hand-laid carbon fibre forming a continuous piece over an aluminium unibody chassis.
- 8 push buttons at 500 gf with RGB backlighting, 5 five-way encoders at 3.5 N·cm also illuminated and 3 seven-way switches.
- 320 mm rim, the usual diameter in GT and endurance racing, with overmoulded silicone handles.
- Label text and colour and button layout can be customised through the GSI customisation service.
simOS: the GSI firmware
The GT-MAX32 runs on simOS, the in-house firmware from Gomez Sim Industries. The simOS desktop application is where you assign inputs, configure the LEDs and the display and apply firmware updates; it is a free download from the manufacturer’s website.

Which version should you choose?
The wheel is ordered with 2 paddles (shifting only) or 4 paddles (shifting plus the “HSE” analogue dual clutch), and with aluminium or carbon fibre paddles. Four paddles add two inputs and around 110 g, and make sense if you do standing starts or endurance stints leaving the pits. Carbon saves about 20 g and gives a slightly crisper action; aluminium costs less and uses the same N52 magnets.
What’s in the box
- GSI GT-MAX32 steering wheel
- GSI “Spec 3” coiled USB cable
The AH100 extension hub is sold separately.
Compatibility
It runs over USB on PC (Windows) and mounts on direct drive wheelbases with a 70 mm PCD, either directly or through the matching quick release or hub. In our own fitting experience it installs on MOZA R5, R9, R12, R16 and R21; Asetek La Prima, Forte and Invicta; Simucube; Simagic; Conspit; VRS Direct Force Pro; Cammus DDWB15; Qubic System QS-DD-20; Accuforce via its quick release, and Fanatec bases through the Podium Hub.
- Not compatible with consoles: it is a USB peripheral for PC.
- Connect it to a powered USB hub or an active USB repeater; passive USB extension cables cause problems.
- At 320 mm and just over 2 kg, check the clearance between wheel and rig before fitting it.
Frequently asked questions
Why are the rim and front plate a single piece?
Because on a 320 mm rim the joints between rim and front plate are exactly where flex appears. GSI lays the carbon by hand into a continuous structure, which stiffens the assembly and saves weight compared with bolting two parts together.
How does it differ from the Hyper P1 or the Formula Pro Elite V2?
In shape and in use. The GT-MAX32 is a 320 mm GT wheel with a full circular rim, a 5-inch display and a 4+16+4 telemetry strip; the Hyper P1 and FPE V2 are formula-style, 300 mm, with a 4.3-inch display and no closed rim. For GT3, prototypes and endurance the circular rim is the natural choice; for single-seaters, the formula format.
Does it work with PlayStation or Xbox?
No. It is a USB wheel for Windows PC. There is no firmware or console licence that enables it on PlayStation or Xbox.
Is two kilos too much for the wheelbase?
Not for a high-end direct drive, which is the kind of base it is used with. Two things are worth bearing in mind: the wheel carries more inertia, which smooths the finest force feedback detail, and some drivers drop the gain slightly once it is fitted.
Can I customise the labels and the button layout?
Yes. GSI offers a customisation service that changes the text and colour of the labels and the layout of buttons and encoders. It is a bespoke order and extends the build time; talk to us before ordering.
Why does the carbon weave look different from one unit to the next?
Because the carbon is laid by hand. That produces slight variations in the weave pattern and small filled areas; it is not a defect but a consequence of the artisanal process, and it makes every unit unique.
