The Esportsim GTW Neat is a sim racing wheel with 3.5 mm carbon fibre faceplates and a 28 cm handle-to-handle distance, compatible with any 6x70 mm PCD wheelbase, aimed at drivers who want professional controls without a screen or telemetry LEDs.

It is the entry model in the GTW range from Italian manufacturer Esportsim and shares its hardware with the GTW Illumina and GTW Ultra: 10 professional buttons, 4 absolute encoders with 12 positions each, a 7-way digital joystick, an MF Switch multifunction switch and magnetic CNC aluminium paddles. It connects over USB 2.0 on PC, or over WiFi to receive telemetry on console.

Which version should you choose?

The Paddles option defines the PPU assembly: "2 - Shifter" fits only the two gear paddles, while "4 - Shifter + Clutch" adds the two Hall effect clutches with adjustable bite point. The Hub option determines the platform: "6x70mm PCD" is the standard PC adapter and fits most direct drive wheelbases on the market, while the Thrustmaster and Fanatec hubs carry the electronics that enable use on PS4, PS5 and Xbox as well as PC.

Compatibility

  • Wheelbases: any base with the 6x70 mm PCD bolt pattern; the official manual confirms compatibility with Thrustmaster, Fanatec and Simucube bases.
  • PC: USB 2.0 connection and telemetry from any simulator through SimHub.

Does the GTW Neat have a screen or telemetry LEDs?

No. The GTW Neat has neither a screen nor the 11 RGB telemetry LEDs: those belong to the GTW Illumina (11 RGB LEDs) and the GTW Ultra (11 RGB LEDs plus a 2.4" LCD screen). The GTW Neat does keep the 8 RGB backlit buttons with adjustable brightness.

Does it work on PS5 and Xbox?

Yes, provided you choose the right version. The standard 6x70 mm PCD adapter is for PC; for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox you need to select the Thrustmaster hub or the Fanatec hub, which carry the preconfigured console electronics.

Which wheelbases is it compatible with?

How does the wheel receive telemetry data?

On PC, over a USB 2.0 cable through SimHub, where the wheel is natively integrated as a device. On console, over WiFi: the wheel joins your network and receives game data using the F1 2023 UDP protocol.

What is the difference between the 2 and 4 paddle options?

The 2-paddle configuration includes only the two magnetic gear paddles. The 4-paddle configuration adds the two analogue Hall effect clutches, which let you adjust the bite point in real time during a race.

Can the firmware be updated?

Yes. The wheel contains two chips: the controller chip is updated with the Esportsim Wheel Manager software from your PC, and the telemetry chip is updated from the wheel's internal web page in WiFi access point mode.
