The Simucube 2 Sport is a 17 Nm Direct Drive wheelbase for sim racing, compatible with PC, designed as the way into the Simucube range with the same electronics and the same software as its bigger sisters.
Built by Granite Devices in Tampere, Finland, it uses an optimised Direct Drive motor with very low torque ripple, a 22-bit absolute angle sensor and a maximum slew rate of 4.8 Nm/ms, adjustable from 1 to 4.8 Nm/ms. Its machined metal chassis weighs 8 kg — the lightest in the Simucube 2 range — and integrates a receiver for Simucube Wireless Wheel sim racing wheels, with every setting centralised in the Simucube Tuner software.
Key features of the Simucube 2 Sport
- 17 Nm of maximum torque, the entry step of the Simucube 2 range and well beyond any belt or gear-driven wheelbase.
- Maximum slew rate of 4.8 Nm/ms, adjustable from 1 to 4.8 Nm/ms to soften or sharpen the force feedback response.
- 22-bit absolute angle sensor, the same one fitted to the Simucube 2 Pro: exact wheel position from start-up, with no prior calibration.
- Direct Drive motor with very low torque ripple, free of cogging and of noticeable steps at low turning speeds.
- Simucube Tuner with automatic profile switching by car and simulator, plus a profile library from the community and professional drivers.
- Torque reconstruction, static force reduction and fully configurable damping, inertia and friction filters.
- 8 kg and a 280 W power supply: the most manageable option in the range for compact rigs.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Simucube 2 Sport work on PlayStation or Xbox?
No. The Simucube 2 Sport is a PC-only wheelbase and connects over USB to a Windows computer. There is no PlayStation or Xbox console support.
What is the difference between the Simucube 2 Sport and the Simucube 2 Pro?
The Sport delivers 17 Nm of torque against 25 Nm on the Pro, with a 4.8 Nm/ms slew rate against 8.0 Nm/ms and a 280 W power supply against 450 W peak. The Sport weighs 8 kg and the Pro 11.1 kg. The 22-bit absolute angle sensor, the filters and the Simucube Tuner software are identical on both.
Is 17 Nm enough for sim racing?
Yes. At 17 Nm the Simucube 2 Sport comfortably outperforms any belt or gear-driven wheelbase and most mid-range direct drive units. Most drivers set torque below the maximum available anyway, to avoid clipping and fatigue over long stints.
Is the Quick Release included?
No. The box includes the pin for the Simucube Quick Release, but the wheel-side kit is sold separately. You can fit the classic Simucube Quick Release or the new SC-Link Quick Release using its adapter for Simucube 2.
Can I use wireless wheels with the Simucube 2 Sport?
Yes. The base has a built-in Simucube Wireless Wheel receiver, so compatible wheels transmit buttons and encoders with no cable between wheel and base.
Which cockpit can I mount the Simucube 2 Sport on?
Any rig with a rigid front or side mount that takes the 4 x M8 pattern on Ø145 mm with Ø110 mm centring. Given its 17 Nm, an aluminium profile cockpit is the sensible choice; desk clamps are not suitable.
