The Simucube Link Quick Release Adapter for Simucube 2 lets you fit the Simucube Link Quick Release to a Simucube 2 wheelbase and use its mechanical lock: a conical P3G polygon, zero play, rattle-free and with no locking pin.

It is the upgrade you notice most without changing wheelbase. The SQR system on Simucube 2 direct drive wheelbases means fitting a pin every time you mount a wheel; the adapter replaces that mechanism on the shaft with the Simucube 3 Link interface, which self-centres and locks instantly. You gain the mechanics, not the electronics: Simucube 2 bases do not support the Link Quick Release wireless power and data transfer, although the usual Bluetooth connection keeps working as normal.

This adapter goes on a Simucube 2 wheelbase and lets you fit wheels with a Link Quick Release to it. The Simucube 2 Quick Release Adapter for Simucube 3 does exactly the opposite: it goes on a Simucube 3 base and lets you fit wheels with the older SQR. The names are similar; what decides which one you need is the wheelbase you own.
