The Shaft Extension Kit for Simucube 3 moves the wheel away from the base with a 100 or 200 mm aluminium shaft, so you can drop your monitor, gain vertical field of view and keep the wireless power and data transfer.

The point is how thin the shaft is: the screen can sit lower, at eye level, without the body of the wheelbase getting in the way. The kit carries both shafts and their cables, both mounting plates, the fasteners and the two tools, and leaves the operation of the Link Quick Release from Simucube untouched.

100 or 200 mm shaft?

It depends on how far you need the screen to drop and on the room in your cockpit. 100 mm is enough on most rigs to clear the top of the wheelbase and gain a few centimetres of view. 200 mm is for anyone running the wheel well forward or after a single-seater posture with the screen really low. You fit one or the other, never both.

Compatibility

Simucube 3 Sport, Pro and Ultimate wheelbases: exclusive to this generation.
Wireless transfer: compatible, it does not interfere with Simucube 3 power or data.
Limit: 200 mm of extension. The two shafts must not be chained together for extra length.

Frequently asked questions

Can I combine both shafts to reach 300 mm?

No. Simucube advises against it explicitly: multiple extensions must not be combined, and extending the steering axle beyond 200 mm may damage the wheelbase.

What is the real point of moving the wheel further away?

Being able to drop the monitor. Because the extension shaft is thin, the screen can sit below where the body of the wheelbase used to be, aligned with eye level, and that improves the vertical field of view of the track.

Do I lose the wheel's wireless connection?

No. The kit includes the necessary extension cables and the Simucube 3 wireless power and data transfer keeps working as usual.

What is included in the kit?

The shaft is aluminium and dimensioned to keep a solid structure at both lengths. With the 200 mm shaft the leverage is greater, so it is worth torquing all the included fasteners properly.
